Meet Susan Picart
I’m Susan Picart, LCSW, a psychotherapist who has walked both sides of the healing journey — as a clinician and as a breast-cancer survivor.
For over two decades, I’ve helped individuals, couples, and families find balance through life’s toughest moments. My approach combines clinical expertise with lived experience, providing therapy that is compassionate, practical, and evidence based.
My Story: Surviving Breast Cancer
Licensed Therapist & Cancer Survivor
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I chose a double mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction — a decision shaped by family history and guided by hope. Healing became more than physical recovery; it was about rebuilding identity and embracing strength.
That experience deepened my empathy and taught me that healing is both a science and an act of courage.

Clinical Background & Approach
Since 1999, I’ve practiced in Toronto, Memphis, Cincinnati, and New York City, helping clients manage depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and transition. My methods include CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Grief Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Strength-Based Therapy.
